Blender Modifiers And Their Functions

Hello Everybody,

I am new to Blender and I’d like to know about what each modifier does. I have been working on 3ds max since 2 years and so much want to learn Blender. I have idea about few of the modifiers in Blender already and i’ve been trying them out but if I could get a brief actual description about 'em. I’ll be really thankful. It’ll be of lotta help.

Thanx Richard. This is exactly what I was looking for.

There’s also Solidify and Multires.
Solidify adds thickness to your model.
Multires is for sculpting in many resolutions.
