Blender Noob to Pro dilemma

I encountered a problem recently in the Blender Noob To Pro Guide. I’m on this part of the tutorial, and at the beginning. You know how it says to select both edges of the hips, and if you can’t, to follow a sub tutorial? Well that doesn’t work. I’ve tried anything, but I can’t select both of the edges :frowning:

edit I’ve looked up help guides and everything…this is something i need your guy’s help from, please.

Please help me the sooner I get past this the sooner I get to the good parts of Blender please answer my question I need help…

Make sure your in edge mode (Ctrl + Tab > edge) then click one edge, hold in shift and select the other.

sonofagun lol now I feel like a total retard…why didn’t they mention that? Lol thanks a bunch bro, oh my gosh that helps a bunch

No problem. If you got more questions feel free to ask.

I’ll take you up on that offer right now. I’m on the Volcanoe part of the tutorial now, and I’m at the part where it says/tells me to select a vertice near the middle, and grab. I hit the “g” button, and all it does is move the plane…it’s not cooperating-I think the tutorial could be more clear about this…so please-what do I do?

I’ve had this problem! The solution for me was to make the grey proportional tool circle smaller. In other words…Press O to turn on proportional edit, press G and then then just scroll down with your middle mouse, or if you’re on a laptop like me, spam Page Down.
