Does anyone have any experience with using Blender on a MacBook Air with the M1 chip? I am aware that it is probably less capable than other laptops but I have a very low budget combined with a crucial need for portability so a heavy laptop is not ideal for me. I’m a beginner so I don’t require really serious hardware. Only enough to use for small animations without having to deal with too much lagging. Is this feasible for such a laptop?
You can use Blender on a MacBook Air, it’s going to be insanely hot and loud though (source: I’ve used blender on a MacBook Air) if you have a low budget, you can get a better laptop for half the price. MacBooks are very expensive comparatively, get yourself a HP laptop for 500 bucks and it’ll work just as well or better

I actually have one in that price and it hasn’t been handling blender very well
Was your MacBook Air with the M1 chip? Because I understood it makes a huge difference
Nope, this was back in 2016 I’m sure things have changed since then
