I know this is probably a stupid question but Im new to Ubuntu so I have to ask. How could I assign all my disks (including DVD-RAM and WinXP disks) to Blender? If I opened up a program and wanna load a scene I could only access “home” - so only the HDD on which the Ubuntu is installed.
I already search the web (Google) for this topic but did NOT find an answer (maybe its to basic to be mentioned on the NET) … in fact Blender is NOT the only app with this problem (for me).
your removable storage locations in ubuntu (disks, usb drives, etc…) are in the ‘/media’ directory. Which is in the same directory as your home folder, so you need to back out to the top parent directory. Or you can just type in ‘/media/’ and it should show you a list of your media
THX for the info. When I type “/media/” its working but parenting to the home folder (the most-up one) is NOT working for me. My disks are connected in the system after the start (in “Places” I mount every disk I have) and its working but its NOT seen in Blender btw - only with the “/media/” stuff You wrote … THX anyway mate, its useful.
