Blender portfolio and employment (not freelancing)

Hey, everyone.

I had this question on my mind for quite sometime now.

Has anyone applied and got a CG related “permanent” job (not a freelance gig) at an animation, game or VFX studio with a portfolio that is entirely/mostly done with Blender, even though the job requirements are experience in commercial softwares (e.g. Maya)?

If you were successful with getting a permanent position at a studio with a “Blender heavy” portfolio, did you have much difficulty transitioning into the commercial software(e.g. Maya) used by the studio?

I was hoping to get some answers as I assume that there are members in this group who are currently working in the field of animation, game or VFX studio.

Cheers in advance
