Blender Problem? Please help :)

I am fairly new to both Blender and this forum so I will apologise in advance for and simple mistakes I may have made.

I have just finished trying to mod a helmet for Oblivion and now for some reason when the helmet is worn it appears 1 meter to the left of the wearer’s head and rotated 90 deg on its side, however it is properly textured. The model was made by taking the original helmet mesh (provided by the game) and simply deleting a few faces, adding an interior mesh to the helmet and performing some general shape alteration. I did NOT perform any translations or move the object around the editing “arena” grid at all during editing process.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I’m not sure what the problem is, but I would guess that somehow the object center has been moved, seen the ‘symptoms’ (even though you didn’t move it on purpose.) Select the helmet, (object mode), and press “Center New”. After that, press “Control + A”, and apply all transformations. I hope this works.
