It was never slow before a couple of days ago, and i was just wondering what could be the cause? Its generally only slow in edit mode.
Do you have an ATI video card? That tends to cause a lot of problems.
No. Geforce 6800, It has to be something I’ve done because its never been this slow before. Could it be because I have either too many verticies or, could the file be corrupted?
lol. well, if you’ve been adding objects to your scene for the last few days, that could be it. try reducing the number of panes, or unlocking them from synchronous update. Use wireframe mode. Response time is all relative.
You could also have a freakin virus, or Windows could be searching for updates in the background chewing up CPU time without you even knowing it. iTunes could be doing updates in the background, or your virus scanner could be doing its thing as well.
This happened to me a while ago, I find just turning off the computer and turning on again is often enough, but if you’ve tried that then all I can think of is to try it with a completely empty file and see if the problem persists. If it doesn’t, your other file is too complicated and you should use wireframe mode. If it does, try a virus scan, or if all else fails just re-download Blender.
