Blender Render vs Cycles for smoke projectile paths?

I need your opinion here, I need to visualize the projected path of a bullet fired from a barrel with twist.

For those unfamiliar with firearms, bullets leave barrels with twist, with a spin.

I need to create a scene, composed entirely of smoke of the paths of the bullets but need to highlight the spiral path of the spin of the bullet.

I plan to animate each stream (each bullet’s path) with two flow objects, one object that simply flies on a straight path (there will be no gravity) and another on a spiral path.

Which method would produce the most “other worldly” appearing smoke? blender render or cycles and any other comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

for our world use cycles most realistic , for other worlds use blender internal less realistic
