Maybe I’m just dreaming, but I have many times dreamt of having a Mod-player (or/and Sk@le tracker compatible) player inside the Blender game engine so It can play these tunes and save LOTS of space when creating the final.exe For those of you that don’t know what a “tracker” is, it’s from the Amiga heydays where we had something called SoundTracker and that basically was a music-creation suite where you could use samples with/without special effects and compose your own music tracks with the samples as you saw fit. Of course you can use samples in Blender, but it’s not a music creation program (hm…maybe that could be another addition to Blender… …Blender-Tracker! HM…
That would be handy, and it would probably cause me to use a tracker again (I downloaded skale, and got a bunch of samples, and then never actually used it). Of course, I could just get rid of Skale if Blender had an integrated tracker. Then, all the would have to do is put in better image editing, say on par with Photoshop or Gimp, and I could delete everything but Blender, and have plenty of room on my Hard drive to save Blender projects (and even less reason to get a life).
You can already play module files with the pygame mixer module…
I don’t know how all that pygame magic works though :D!
Weird, I was about to post something like this…
I am really getting into stuff like this, and it would really be awesome to have this feature. It would be cool to edit modules in Blender too, but that can wait as long as Blender can play them by itself.
