Blender + sketchup ?

heya guys,

would there be any chance that in near future,
Blender would able to import .skp 3D file format (sketchup 3d)

so that we could able to render quickly rather saving/expoerting it into
dxf. or model

looking forward for an answer.

cheers.

See http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?p=615513
for kml/kmz importer for blender. That ought to work. Also there is kmz exporter available at http://ynniv.com/blog/2006/03/blending-kml.html .

thanks alot bebraw.
but i think i am still confused, as i am not a programming / script reader.
as i have no idea what they are saying and which is the script / file that i need to use on blender in order for BLENDER to import a sketchup file directly.

I think that you need to copy the text into the blender text. Then maybe try executing the script by hiting alt+p while the mouse pointer is in the window. If the script is made for python, it should work. Just to warn you I have not seen the script yet.
