Hey guys, anyone knows how to control the Smoke / Fire speed in Blender?
i just want that the Flame looks more stright, just like Real rocket launching.
i made a Simulation with the settings you see on the screenshot.
i used Wind with the strength of 25000 so i have a lot of force ffor the smoke.
initial velocity set up to -1000m/s on the z achs.
time scale on 1,250
btw, i am using planes for the Fluid/Flow and checked (IS PLANER) cause they are not a solid shape.
but somehow it looks like one flame after i Bake the simulation.
that would be great if anyone has an answer for me or maybe a Youtube Link for a Toturial.
and Have a nice weekend guys
I tried something like this once. Two rocket engines and yes I had problems like this, it looked like 1 flame.
I first used circles as emitters. Then I tried using cones, pointy end at top, big end at bottom and no bottom face. My thinking was this would direct the flame inwards since it was emitted from inside the cones. Nope, didn’t work. Tried using the particle system (particle system can be used as source for smoke sim) thinking that would give me more control. It was an improvement, but still didn’t look the best and it had other problems. I ended up using procedural flames and the smoke sim for the smoke part.
If you think about it, rocket engines burn pretty consistently at the nozzles, and a little less so further away from the nozzles. Blender’s smoke sim is ok for campfires, burning buildings, and explosions, but I don’t think it will cut it for rocket engines.
If you want to see my example, just let me know.

Hi Realdimension,
Have you tried using a Particle System as a Flow Source?
Hi, try the settings in my file the speed is increase with the time scale.
if you don’t get the results you are after for the smoke with the fire then have two emitters one for smoke and one for fire. The material can be improved.

thank you all guys for the solutions you gave me, really lovely
