Hello all its my first post here, I want to know if there a smooth way (for animation and not single renders) to achieve slowly transition between materials using a black and white photo as mask. Something like spilled water onto cloth slowly turning into transparent/wet puddle.
Something like this normally doesn’t use a “Predefined” mask, but it could be done I believe, using Dynamic Paint and the mask used as a wetness map… It would take, however, one image per frame of animation and some fine greyscale work to get the proper smoothness and fade… Dynamic paint and wetness maps can do this for you in Blender without having to manually create the images yourself… with the added bonus of spreading, drying, etc.
Sorry about this video, but it is still the best one to demonstrate the procedure out there, you just need to apply the technique to your project.
