Blender Steam Version

Hi,

Is there any benefit to using the Steam version of Blender, than the one downloaded off blender.org?

I currently do not use Steam’s version of Blender.

Auto updates maybe? Apart from that I don’t think so.

The Steam version is identical to the download from the main website. It’s just convenient for some people to have it in Steam as well.

Well, I will just stick with what I have now where I can run whichever version I want to use, sometimes 2.79, other times the new 2.8 beta.
