Blender - What hardware is good?

Hi,

I hope this is the correct sub-forum. :wink: I’m wondering what kind of hardware is good for Blender, cause I want to make some small movies with a length of about 5 minutes or so and currently it takes me 75 days just to render one minute…

I’m using up-to-date Blender Cycles. :wink:

So which hardware would you recommend me for rendering?

I’m currently thinking of:
1-2 Intel Xeon E5-2670 (from ebay to keep the costs manageable)
Asus Z9PA-D8 Intel C602 So. 2011 Quad Channel DDR3 ATX Retail
16GB DDR3 RAM

I’m also thinking of if it makes more sense to buy instead of 1-2 Intel Xeon E5-2670 one which is a bit newer and later buy a second one.

Would be nice to know if this is good or not and how high the performance difference between one and two xeons would be, so that I can think of the best solution.

My budget is currently under 1k€.
