Blender window problem in linux?

Hi I’m using Blender on Linux and I have some problems with the Blender window. When I open Blender the window opens fullscreen. The Blender window overrides the linux taskbar. When I hit the preview button, the preview render window is opened behind my main blender window. I can see it’s there with alt-tab, but I can’r get the preview render window in front of the main blender window. The same thing goes for other applications that where running before I started blender. I’m using RedHat Linux 8.0.

PS: When using blender on windows 2000 I get all kinds of problems in the interface, XP works fine…

run blender with the -w option
it will open in a window, and your problems will be lessened

./blender -w

To get the preview window to show don’t you just hit F11?
