blender3d.org down

wow way to be a fun Nazi i apologize for assuming that you had a sense of humor i promise sir it will never happen again but in all seriousness i hope that they get it up soon im starting to miss my daily blender.org roaming

I sure hope the shipping from Blender’s E’shop is still good i just spent a hundred dollars on there today

Whew… I hadn’t looked at Blender for abotu a year… I thought it disappeared when I tried ot look it up yesterday…

…what version is out, BTW?

2.45

thats whats out but i think that they are close to another update because of all the patches

2.45, it works very well.

The site being down makes me think we might need a version of the docs that can be on our local machines. Is that someone a wiki can generate?

Well, I checked the #Blender IRC channel and got

<hasmind> why is the blender server down?
<PanzerMKZ> blender.org is down

[UPDATE]

<mfoxdogg> hasmind, no one knows why

What a sense of emptiness without blender site.

Wiki books are still online for those that need them:

Down me to :frowning:

Working now, slowly and on-and-off.

The Wiki books goes down when blender.org is down, so that won’t work in this case.

hmm, not totally bad idea… i dont know if downloading whole thing would be great (it’s a wiki afterall, which means its alive, so people would be downloading all the time), but
it runs on mediawiki, so you could pull out pdfs for certain pages for example…

I just downloaded the latest blender now, so it’s up and running fast for me!

You people are like the lil ants on Bugs life. After the twig fell in the path. OMG WHAT DO WE DO!!! We cant find our way!!!

haha big sissy babies. I am sure it will be back soon.

When I have a problem and a source like the wiki is down that might have the solution. I try the following:

  1. IRC
  2. http://web.archive.org/web/*/wiki.blender.org
  3. Google cache.

Blender.org is back up:)

Good thing too, I was able to see the furry pictures on the Peach blog.

Thanks brian! I never realized how much I relied on the Blender Wiki until it was down.

How about this?

@egan – I remember that. That was the version that was around when I first started looking at Blender. I had just come from Imagine for DOS v4 and was getting ready to buy Imagine for Windows.

I did buy Imagine for Windows, CUP (update path) and everything. What a waste of money that turned out to be!

Ta for the links - you lot a really are cool
