i have the same problem with pc guard. have done since the problems started with Ba,
Hi,
matthe, do you still have that issue right now? I’m working on fixing it and thought I had it figured out.
Do you have any more information for me? what does your virusscanner say exactly?
Hi Goofster,
the issue is still present. here’s a screenshot:

just to let you know i have found and resolved my problem…with pc guard.
after 1/2 hour of backwards and forwards phone calls with my isp, all i had to do was clear the theft protection log. ffs lol dont know how Ba got on the log but never mind yay i have Ba back whoohoo
so im just wondering if at some point on the 3rd Dec if you had been working on the site, it might have accidently triggered my theft protection.
Issue still present, I had to shut down virus protection to be able to reach the forum.
well it seems if i close my browser, start it up again, i get the same issues id theft protection still keeps blocking you
I’m on Linux machine at the noment, so no prob. But, still is not posibble to connect from Widows with ESET Smart Security.
ESET Smart Security
Address has been blocked.
blenderartists.org/forum
IP address:
174.143.170.86:80
And nothing useful in the Log.
If yours is anything like my version, (Regular old Antivirus 4) you can set up a scan exclusion by going to Setup>Toggle Advanced mode>Antivirus and antispyware protection>Webaccess protection>Configure…>HTTP, HTTPs> address management. Put in “blenderartists.org” and it’ll stop checking this site entirely. Just remember to re-enable scanning when things are fixed.
i have the same problem with ESET Smart Security 4
Same problem, same screen as above, but in English. Eset nod32 antivurus. I also have to disable it to get here.

I was very curious as to why ESET is considering Blenderartists.org having some kind of malicious content as their products are ones of the few i had found very reliable through the years.
So i looked around.
And on the Sophos website i found the description of a trojan “trojdwnldriqk”
http://www.sophos.com/security/analyses/viruses-and-spyware/trojdwnldriqk.html
and in the description you can read :
HTTP Requests
* h ttp://blenderartists.org/external/Banners/facebook.jpg
* h ttp://dolbyaudiodevice.com/images/im133.jpg
* h ttp://historykillerpro.com/img/eslogo.gif
* h ttp://pcdocpro.com/images/logo-2.jpg
* h ttp://zoneck.com/images/im134.jpg

DNS Requests
* blenderartists.org
* dolbyaudiodevice.com
* historykillerpro.com
* pcdocpro.com
* xibudific.cn
* zoneck.com
* zonejm.com
If this trojan send requests to blenderartists.org, that may explain why ESET has placed the website on some blacklist.
It would be a good idea for the blenderartists admin to contact ESET to clear that blacklisting.
Hi,
I’ve been aware of that trojan since a few days. That was the actual reason for the slowness of the site. I’ve since blocked the requests made by it and that improved the stabillity of the server. This has not caused any security issues (it only caused a LOT of traffic) but apparently ESET found it a big enough deal to block the site.
I have contacted ESET and asked them to remove us from their blacklist.
My apologies that I didn’t release this information before. I wanted to arm the server against any other possible attacks before spreading this news around.
Roel
Thanks for Blender Artists. Goofster and thank you for all your hard work.
P. Monk
Nice to see you’re taking care of issues Goofster, this site is in the best state since it became BlenderArtists.org.
I also like how it seems the site is getting more attention now (compared to before the big design change :D)
I seem to be ok now. Eset is on, and I’m typing this. Maybe Eset has begun to take action.
Hi,
I got a mail a few hours ago from ESET saying they would unblock us. Apparently they did it pretty quickly
Good to hear everything is OK again.
Roel
Great to hear.
Thanks for fixing the situation.
Websense now blocks blenderartists.org under the category “Bot Networks”, so any business, school, or other organization that uses websense is blocking blenderartists.org.
Thanks Goofster, problem fixed.
