Hey… just a quick question… Does anyone know what this feature in the blenderplayer is for? And what can be done with it?
-i: parent windows ID
example: blenderplayer.exe -i 232421 c:\filename.blend

Hi, i think its used when blender player is running as embedded. i also think the burster web plugin make use of it too.
bye
What does that exactly mean embedded? You can embedd the blenderplayer via -i in other windows?
i think it plays a specific blendfile…see where it says filename.blend? it would state the filename you wish to execute and then play it through blender player, although im only a beginner in coding so maybe not?
like when you set it up where your file is downloadable, you can set it to automatically run a blendfile instead of having to have blender opened first(something along those lines :P)

Yeah… it starts the blendfile. That is clear. But I do not know what this -i parameter stands for. And I would like to know it
I can also start the blend without the -i parameter…
maybe it imports a section of another blendfile? or specifies where to embed the file? try putting a blendfiles name after the -i…then if your computer crashes…its not meant to be used that way ahahah sorry
normally -i means to import something…but what is it importing???
if you -j you create a junction…so hmmmmmm
-i stands for id in this case I think! (-i: parent windows ID)
well im very sorry ive intruded on your thread with my noobishness :P…sadly i was no help at all xD
its just like embedding youtube videos on browser.
the only use of it i’ve seen is in the burster web plugin. the blender player is running in embedded mode in web browsers etc.
