- Update April 2021:
Hi guys! Ok so here is the Beta! of the new BlenRig (6??)
So, to start using this, I would suggest you add the rig to your scene from the add armature panel, and when you select the rig in pose mode go to the “Guides” section in the GUI.
The reproportion guide is currently the only guide you have in this beta, but it’s the most crucial one, as it will aid you in positioning all the bones properly. At the end of the guide, you will also bake the rig and all the deformation objects with a couple of clicks (mesh deform cage among other objects).
From there, you can go on as usual, the workflow hasn’t changed much, although everything in general is much better.
Now that this part is kind of done, I have to start making the other guides. They will automate the rest of the process, such as adding shapekeys, adjusting the armature actions, etc. Every aspect of the rigging process will have a guide that will not only assist you, but it will make things much faster.
Well, I hope this is not too overwhelming, this beta is intended for people that are already familiar with BlenRig, and hopefully with the addition of all the other Guides, anyone will be able to use it with ease
Oh, and try it with 2.93 as Blender 3.0 has some issues with the GUI.
############### LEGACY BLENRIG ###############
BlenRig 5 Ver. 1.04 is now available for Blender 2.8!
This is a direct port from the Blender 2.7 version so don’t expect any new features, although I’m still working on new stuff for future releases.
Now you’ll be able to use Victor, Vincent, Agent 327 and Spring or even rig your own characters in Blender 2.8.
Also, for the ones who still don’t have a Blender Cloud Subscription, we’ve made all the BlenRig Tutorials available for free on Youtube
