Shift + V = vertex slide

do vertex slide 0

then check ‘preserve UVs’

almost all I used was vertex slide, and join (J key) and subdivide edges.

Ctrl R will save some steps compared to the demoed subdivide method. Nice result btw.

I used unwrap and moved the faces to places on the texture that seemed fitting to fill in the missing details*
