hi guys,
i just downloaded the last upload from filiciss on graphicall.org and i wanted to play a little bit with bmesh and knife , but as you can see in the small video it does’n act right :frowning:
does this happen to you too ?

This is a nice

it deleted two side faces.
It’s a bug.
Not suprising.
Bmesh is a bugnest.

yayks guys, i’m scared of bugs ;))

I think when it cuts it is cutting from the outside of the object initially, but on your second click the vertex normal??? points into the box…??? it is possible. I don’t know if that makes sense.

could you be a little more precise? or do a small video with Jing or Camstudio

when i saw teh title i thought that bmesh is now working .

thanks you for making me sad heheheheh

try it by yourself here if you’re on Win 64 http://www.graphicall.org/builds/builds/showbuild.php?action=show&id=1496

bugmesh

Leave the b-mesh alone for now, it’s too buggy for now. Sad but true

Clarifying my previous statement…

Imagine the face you are cutting like a “single-sided” plane…you make your first cut with the faces normal facing you, then it is as if you rotate around the backside of the face to make your second click to create your new edge. This confuses the geometry engine as to which normals point in which direction…still hard to understand? or does that make sense?

and how am I suppose to cut the cube then? what are steps to get a cutted face of a cube?

it’s a bug and joe knows about it…
