BMPS, Material Preview scene crashing/Freezing (ARC gpu)

Hello there
Wanted to get into some stuff, by testing materials in the scene that you can find in

or

But i keep getting freezes and now one crash, the freezes and crash happens when I move/use the 3D view a few times, on Gpu compute it locks up the program, like half freeze, nothing gets updated, nothing can be clicked, have to terminate the program through task manager…
Some people in RPR discord server said that my PC might be the issue but rendering Classroom (benchmark/demo scene) is fine and no issue viewing the scene in the 3D view while rendering either… I recorded a video but you won’t be able to see it, unless you are in that server (the change discord did like a year ago) Gonna try uploading it but no clue if it will work (look at the end of this post)
I tried append the scene by appending camera, mesh (all) and Object (all) but only the camera is as it should be…
Using 4.3.2… Some specs:

  • i5 12500
  • 32GB
  • A750 (drivers below - image)
    image
    Windows10 64Home

Any help, questions are welcome
Cheers :hugs:

There is no problem in rendering.
Try to try to CPU, and update the GPU driver if you don’t have problems.

Seems like changing to Vulkan from openGL fixed it… or maybe not, too early to tell, after a day or so (had to turn on experimental stuff in the interface tab)

I will know for sure.

I don’t know exactly what that feature is. :slightly_smiling_face:
Read the information in the link below.

hmm seems like that didn’t fix the issue.
Still got a freeze, this time while viewing shader editor, when about to move / zooming out

Test it with CPU, and if there’s no problem
Update the GPU driver or try a lower version of the blender.
I saw a video of using that GPU on YouTube and it seems to be working well without any particular issues.

It seems to work fine, except on those 3 BMPS files.
But gonna update from 6314 to 6325 and see what’s cooking

Material settings for files are a very simple configuration using the default node.
I don’t think there’s anything that could cause problems.

Hardware problems are difficult to identify unless they are the same hardware.
※ Regarding hardware, we need to check GPU updates and motherboard updates.

For the motherboard update, you can check it on the motherboard manufacturer’s website, especially for BIOS, there may be important hardware patches, so we recommend you check it out.

What you can do with the blender, try disabling the Load UI when you open the file.
If this is a UI issue, it will work.

Hmm seems it still happened, after 15 minutes or so, while using shader editor it happened.
I’m not sure but I will try to recreate it, while panning the view I have to go over the edge of that window… I doubt it will happen in the non old blend file.

I don’t think I’ve heard of any similar issues because I don’t have many same GPU users.
If the same problem is repeated and the problem occurs under certain conditions, it may be a bug.

If you think it’s a bug, refer to the video and submit a report.
