BMW 5 series 2001 (latest render on page2)

I like this render considerably more than the first. but as you said, there is something wrong with the reflections. there also looks like some mesh or smoothing problems around the back of rear door & window… or maybe its reflection…

Hope you don’t mind I’m posting so many renders, but is this any better?

Hey that look pretty good! I like it alot

For the line on the hood, are you sure it’s caused by reflection? It look like you didn’t removed double in that area when you Flipped the side of the car (maybe I totally wrong on that)…anyway keep it up!

I like the last render the best!

That’s what I thought too - I know I certainly wasn’t doing anything quite like that when I’d only used Blender for a few months!

I think that last render is a great improvement too. Much sexier! Are you using the fresnel falloff stuff in yafray for the car paint shader?

cheers

Replaced the last one. No, it wasn’t that remove double thingy, I built these faces manually.
And I’m not using fresnel (yet).

The line was caused by a slight offset there, which couldn’t be corrected manually, so I smoothed it a few hundred times (I mean I did a lot test renders) till I got it somewhat right. It’s 6 am, off to bed, hope it does look somewhat right now, but can’t really see
by the way, those dark areas wher the hood meets the winsdhield are not abnormalities in the hood’s shape, but reflections of the windshield wipers.

well, because you havent been doing cg too long, this is more of an experience thing, but i would change the floor texture… just make it more of a reflective neautral…
The car is getting lost amidst the floor, and thus detracting from the a good model.

Also, headlights look weird. like textures, not modeled

Wish I could tell yafray which object reflects which

hahahah, you reflective smart arse

all the above comments are valid. maybe a low angle camera angle would make it look a little more impressive?

and dont be scared to clean up minor abnormalities with the GIMP or PS

liked the firsy one best. :o :o :o

me likes the first one best too

me too

hmm, I like the one at the very top, I know what broken means… :-? just for a crit though, I think theres something wrong with the reflection on the wind sheald ( I don’t think it’s reflecting anything thats realy there ) and I thinkt he AA should be used on a higher seting right now it look kinda jagged…

but other then those things it’s a good render… :x
