BMW m3 gt2

I tried posting this earlier. There was no indication that it needed to be reviewed. Sorry new to this forum.

Anyways I wanted you guys to see my topology. It’s little project a revivied from a year ago. Check it out and please give me some tips and hints. Thank you

I’m really having trouble with the back part it seems like my images aren’t lining up. I’ll have to work on that.

This is a quick update, I added some tires from Danilius from blendswap.
There are temporary while I model my own.

I need to fix the quarter panel as I am getting a weird color in there.

Hey guys here is an update I remade the head lights. I put a light just on one side though. I need to remake the cover…

Also I need help. I’m trying to make the hole for the lug nuts… Is it ok to have triangles in this case?

I would really appreciate help with the rims. I can’t seem to have a good way of making the holes…

Just in case someone stubble in here and is interested here are the rims that I modeled. Still not quite done but idk if I want to add more detail.

Rule of thumb: it’s never ok to have triangles; there are a couple of exceptions - think about the sphere used for an eye.

Upload the blend and someone can take a look.

Is it the top flat surface of the bolt? If so then yeah sure it doesn’t matter then at all, but there is a way to connect the faces using quads.

Looks like you did your rims fine, i like 'em.

Well is not “never”… 99% of the time yeah, ya wanna stick with the quads, but i think there are more cases then just a the sphere of an eye.

Thanks guys for commenting @Writer’s Block yes I found out quick that triangles there at the bottom were not welcome lol so I fixed them in the render above.

@DDD thanks, If you have any info on improvements I can make let me know…

I managed to use the LoopTools add on to make the holes on the rim. As you can see they came out well.
It has a nice feature where you can use two quads and delete the edge between them, then you can select the six vertices and go to Loop Tools > Circle and it will arrange the six points in a circle…

That’s how I made them all and it’s very quick and easy…

I still have a lot of work to do. Here it is with my rims, rotors and calipers. Same tires though…

I did say that there are a couple of examples, and if you want to be accurate ‘couple’ equals two, but it certainly means more than one which you seem to suggest I mean.

And as ever, rules can be broken once we know how and why. This is especially true when dealing with art. Hell, we don’t even know even need to know how and why, as long as we get the results we want.

OP asked, I answered.
