Bone deforms incorrectly


Can someone explain what can possibly cause this? Why is the first bending, but the second is not?

There are so many possible errors, and it is impossible for us to list them all, it will only confuse you further!

One thing I will say though is there does not appear to be enough vertices in you mesh to get a successful deformation. Also have you been manually weight painting? This is not a good idea unless you really know what you are doing.
