Hi, i want to know how to achieve a human being knocked by a car, with all the bones and everything. Do i have to make the rig???
yes, model the character, then make an armature and rig the character up to the armature, then animate it. I’m not exactly sure what your asking though
i want a car to sent through the air an human, and this human reponses the fall with the armature. Basically i want to mix the game engine and the armature.
you can use armatures in the game engine, all you have to do is animate it then set up the logic bricks to play the animation
He wants bullet physics to cause the rigged character to respond to the impact. Do some searching around for information on the new constraint system. There are a number of demos out for the soon to be new release of blender.
Exactly…
Is it a rag doll with physics you want or a premade animation?
edit:
Man I’m slow:P
i betting on rag
i don´t understand, i just want that the body bounce on the floor respecting the bones joints, and these moves freen while he is in the air.
Thanks
rasco22862, that is called “ragdoll” physics. It’s possible to do in Blender, but I myself don’t know how. From what I hear, the next release will have some features to allow this.
I don’t think ragdoll for Armatures is coming any time soon (maybe the release after next, if we whine at Erwin enough). At the moment, I think the only way to do this is to have each joint a seperate object, and use hinge constraints. Personally, though, I like to make my pedestrians explode when hit, so I haven’t used this yet.
(If you still are interested, I’m sure a bit of searching would turn up some results…)

i remember seeing someone post a body for ragdoll and had seperate objects and someone said you don’t need seperate objects.
Ragdoll physics takes a lot of power. So we might have to wait. But I read somewhere today that blender 2.43 will have it. I can’t confirm that, but we shall see…
There’s already 2.43 RC1 and the previews of 2.43. The newest was preview 12, if i remember right.
-what we need is some realtime mesh deformation… or softbodies yay… more work for Erwin!!
Sound like someone is trying to make a Truck Dismount type game…
Ok here is a shot in the dark so to speak… there are multiple bone layers possible. maybe try coping your armature to another layer and adding the new rag doll on top puting the hings at the joints. that is my best with out researching it. Will look into it
-yeah if you can get the position and rotations of the joints… but you i don’t think you can control the bones via dynamic objects yet…
hey yea i have been wondering this for quite some time…ragdoll physics is gonna be real big the most notorious game for using ragdoll physics would be half life. Go to like you tube and look up like garrys mod
