Boolean doesn't work with a set of planes and a set of cylinders

I have an object that represents a set of planes and an object that represents a set of cylinders. When I use boolean to subtract the second object from the first, it doesn’t work.

I have solved the problem. I had to make the cylinders thicker and to move them slightly downwards so that they also cover the bottom faces of the solidified planes.
