Boolean isn't making holes


I’m trying to do holes in a bigger model using of course a smaller model with mesh. Unfortunatelly it does not work. I tried every option of it. Earlier I was using normal face/edge filling but when I wanted to dissolve some edges I had limited boundary thing. I hope someone will explain why does boolean isn’t working or maybe show me a new option? :slight_smile:

Boolean does not work well when there’s no volume. If there’s no volume, where’s the “inside” and the “outside” of things?

A way to do this shape: Join all the meshes into one, delete only the faces, then go selecting vertices that form convex regions, and make faces with them.

Remove double vertices once you have joined the shapes, it will give you less headaches when you start constructing faces.
