Hello,
I recently upgraded from a very old version of blender to 4.2 and I realized that the search-function for objects in the boolean modifier works very differently from before.
Probably this is something everyone knows, but I do not understand why it behaves the way it does.
I will try to append a screenshot to illustrate what I mean:
I created several objects with different names. Then I added a boolean modifier to Suzanne and began typing something into the object field.
When just entering “p” the objects Puch and Porsche will be suggested, which is just as I expected.
But when writing “po” Toyota appears, even though it obviously does not contain the letter p. Also Puch does not contain the letter o, but it is still in the list.
Assuming that only 50% of the letters have to match, then why if Ford not considered?
At first I thought this might be a bug, but someone in a different forum told me it is completely logical, so I would not dare reporting this as a bug
Is this really logical - and how?
I found this behavior in 4.0 and 4.2, but in 2.79 only the objects are listed, whose names match completely. (I did not test other versions of blender.)
