Booleon Modifier Created Holes Issue

So I’ve previously used the Booleon Modifier to create holes in objects (I’m creating wind instruments here, and using it to create the tone holes). With my first object I didn’t have any problems, but with this current object I’m working on, the holes distorted the mesh around the holes.

Is there a way to fix this or am I going to have to scrap the tone holes and look for a different method?

I am using Blender 2.83 (can’t upgrade to 2.9 until I get a new PC… Yay.)

Depending on the quality needed, you can try adding an edge split modifier with the booleon.
That will likely solve the shading issue, but will leave you with sharp edges.

Other than that, try adding support geometry around the holes.

The edge split modifier solved the issue. Thank you so much !! :slightly_smiling_face:
