Braided hair problems

Hello! I need your help. I want to make braid, so I deleted every parent strands exept one and added children. When braid is straight there are almost no problems, exept these strange strands across braid:

Also when I want to comb braid in particle edit it gets really strange. Strands are in very ugly shapes etc. (These random strands across braid are also visible):

Also when I comb my braid it changes shape, I mean these thicker parts of it gets thin along braid direction. Hope you know what I mean…

As you can see in the post above it’s pretty fine when braid is straight.

Also, is there any way to make end of braid thin without messing rest of it?
