Brandon Phoenix's Miscellaneous Amalgamation of Artisitic Junk

I’ll toss al my artwork that doesn’t really fit anywhere else into this thread. I would love comments. Some of it may include work I’ll have to do with MAYA (since I am studying it) as well as ZBrush. I don’t mean to offend with these other programs, but I love this community, and you all are by far the most welcoming and supportive CG Community I’ve ever seen, so I hope you’ll give me appropriate feedback, irrespective of the software. With that said, here’s what I have. C&C would be immensely helpful:

More coming, hopefully some scans tomorrow…

Those images are really fresh. I think you are on to a good thing - the longer you spend in one area, there better you get, and doors to this hidden insights get opened. Look forward to your further scans.

It seems to me like even though I’m not sure how any of these would work as a standalone piece of art, they’d be great for supplementing something else as complimenting graphic design. I’m imagining the tattered map being used in some fantasy themed work, for instance, or the worn crumbling wall with the “work with passion” neon sign being used as a texture for a 3D rendered scene.

Yeah, these are all mostly me practicing individual skills. The only two meant to standalone are really the last two. I’ll try to get some figure drawings up today.

Well I’ll certainly check them out whenever you post them.

thanks for the sharinG!

Ok, time for that update I promised a while back…

These are from my figure drawing class. I would love to get feedback for improvement. They are in chronological order starting in September.

I’m liking it, the patches look great, are the figures from life? I know you said figure drawing class but I was just wondering if they are life drawings or working from books. I did a lot of life drawing at college and I’d say it’s the only way to learn how to draw people properly

great work

Yeah, we use a model for these. Thanks.

My first foray into Adobe Illustrator. I hate the program so much…

This was a partner project. The two patterns I am responsible for are shown, along with the composited project.

Anyone use Illustrator and Inkscape that could comment on their merits/demerits?

Nice.
Say, Had you worked on one of the King Quest remakes?
What make me say that is the Map and your style.

Naw, I didn’t, but since I used Illustrator, it kind of has to have this aesthetic.

Update long overdue. Here are some new ones:

I’m really trying to work on my traditional skill, so any comments would really help.

in #20, the sticks look out of place on the 360 controller. and #21 has some awesome form…

Thanks Rozzy. Yeah the controller is a very bizarre shape to try to recreate. I was wondering if you (or anyone) had any more stylistic comments taht could help me improve since, obviously, that’s necessary.

Little fun with Mudbox and stylization. I’m not all that good at sculpting or stylization, so I’m trying to improve both.

Feedback appreciated.

Imho, the nose looks a little bit weird, the bump is slightly to much, I would suggest you create a smoother arc (if that’s the way to say it) so the valley part of it gets smoothed out a little.
Not much else I can say though, I don’t really have much experience when it comes to anatomy, traditional art or stylization.

Oh and I really like #21, would you mind if I would try to create a 3d model of it, or something resembling it?

anyway keep it up, you got some cool stuff here
