Br'cks - Advanced Procedural Bricks [Free Download]

Hey there,

I made an advanced procedural bricks texturing tool for Blender 2.8.
It is all 100% procedural and all done in Blender.

I also included 3 example shaders:

You can get the free file on Gumroad:

I hope you like it, feel free to drop me a tip so I can keep doing that sort of stuff

Cheers,
Simon

Very nice. Good brick colours.

A very minor suggestion is to never use special characters such as a quote mark in file names. While a quote mark may actually be a legal character in a file name, it does create an automatic fear response because of the many hacking problems.

This is an impressive shader, excellent quality! but Iā€™ve taken a look at the nodes and my soul has been sucked into a black hole. Really , I canā€™t understand a thing, itā€™s an spaguetti nightmare, how can you design/control such a setup, howā€¦howā€¦I surrender, you are from an advanced civilization light years from earth, the ā€œnoditesā€ and are set to take over the worl

Ahem no, of course not, that is crazy to even think about. I was human, I mean I am humanā€¦ I was referring to myself in the pastā€¦ no

Yea, itā€™s not built to be easily traceable from outsideā€¦ I am really slacking on the documentation of my node set-ups. I have a better flow when Iā€™m unorganized

@punchcard Iā€™ll keep that in mind, thanks for bringing it up

IĀ“m a trial/error guy, although I donā€™t recommend that method. Iā€™m puzzeled at how can you conceive such abomination/marvel. Vornoi to make cracks with amount contoled by a value ā€œless thanā€? please teach me that witchcraft!!!

genius. Crazy good procedural texture :open_mouth:

The ā€˜less thanā€™ creates a black and white mask out of a random value for each brick (Random RGB).
That controls where the cracks are going to pop up.

upvote for this, I cannot find any good tutorials on this subject :frowning: would pay for a good series

This only means one thing. That node trees are more difficult to read than they are to build.

Regardless, nice shader
