Really nice concept, Great visuals.

The only thing I see that needs any work is the stiffness of the character. A little bit of swagger in the walk and some looseness in the fingers or wrist when he plays the drum.

Other than that, its one of the best I’ve seen so far in these forums.

The character animation was a let down. He was really stiff. Also the glowing body parts seems like a bit of a cop out. Kind of like cheating so you don’t have to render realistic faces and such. That said.
The face is one of the hardest things to model naturally, and has in the past ruined many otherwise great animations. So I’m 50/50 on the idea.

BUT! The rendering, lighting, composition and cinematography were fantastic! I didn’t expect to see that kind of quality, but was pleasantly surprised

PS. At 0:52 the guitar strap stays stationary whilst he moves back and forth. Very noticeable. I’d try and fix that if you know how.

Hey thanks for all the replies. This was one of my first times doing character animation so I’m not that great yet. About the white skin. I did that cause the character is supposed to be me, but is also supposed to represent anyone. Plus I had done most of the texturing before so it was just the style i guess. And yes, I noticed the strap too but left it because of my tight deadline.

there are lots of neat shots crammed in there; i loved the shot where you were standing next to the Lord at sunrise.

Thanks. I guess i should explain a little more about the restrictions i had on the video. It had to be around 3 minutes long. So I had to cram a bunch of stuff I wanted to show, as well as record the song at about that length. And I started 3d modeling the character back in february but didn’t start doing the rest until a month ago. So it was about 4 and a bit weeks of working a lot at night cause I’ve got calculus :frowning: during the afternoons. But it was fun and now that i’m done i kind want to start another video project. Mostly just for practice with animating, modeling, texturing, and everything else lol.

Awsome! I know that doesn’t say much, but it is what it is.

Nice work! Keep it up!

That was great, you nailed the sync while playing the guitar and drums I am impressed

I agree with others who have said the character was too stiff, but considering it’s your first time doing character animation it’s not really a problem. Everybody has to start somewhere, right? And as a start, it certainly could have been much worse.

Overall I thought it was great. The design and the camera angles/movements are great. I can’t say I was a huge fan of the song itself (although it wasn’t bad), you did a good enough job at trying to keep the characters movements in sync with the instrumentals, and syncing the camera cuts and pans to the overall beat and tone of the song.

4/5 Stars from me.
