Broken vertices and sharp edges help

I deleted these faces so that I could put eyeballs in the face but these leftover edges make the topology really…ugly. And I’m worried I won’t be able to use the model later on. Anything to fix the area? Or is this model just for the trash bin? And also, can anything reduce the poly count without using decimate? Thanks in advance.






Could try selecting those and delete: Edge select mode, select one, shift+G -> amount of connecting faces, X -> edges. Mesh menu -> clean up has some tools, could try deleting loose and fill holes.

Could delete extra geometry manually. Maybe selecting an edge ring, select -> checker deselect, select -> edge loops, X -> edge loop.
