Bsurfaces New Year's contest. (And Christmas bonus)

@Jpmon1
Remember that you’re not restricted to the performance of any particular sculptor. Those who invite sculptors can be Referrers of as many Sculptors as they want.

Very well then, I would like to invite D_structorr and Thordwilk. Happy blending and good luck!

my referer: yg3d my sculptors: Thordwick, {pm for invite}

Would anyone like to refer me? This would really be some great motivation to work on a very serious, detailed sculpture!
If you would like me to return the favor and refer you, I’d be more than happy to!

edit: I have now been officially invited, so I’m in! Thanks all! Looking forward to seeing the great stuff that’s going to be popping up in this thread!

Somthing occured to me, this sculpting means that the image must have been sculpted from one solid piece straight from the basic forms or does it allow modiefy by vertex deletion (basically modelling like normal) because then we will get alot of people just throwing in complete models they did, also should colour be allowed unless it was painted onto the sculpt, does it allow uved sculpts? Basically what cant you enter into the competition?

@Thordwilk
There is much freedom really. It could be started from a base mesh, use UVs, use several sub-objects, be painted. It can be also any previous work.
The only rule is that it should be 90% sculpting work. Have sculpting work all over it.

I’m adding a Christmas bonus prize. It will be a “Small company” license (allows up to 12 copies for the same company / institution), one for the Sculptor and one for the Referrer.
This prize will be raffled randomly among those sculptures posted until December 22nd.

Those who participate for this prize will still participate for the New Year’s prizes.

So, for those who would like to double their chances to win and also get it sooner, there’s a chance for Christmas.

I really don’t understand this concept.
I would like to compete, but why should I be invited?

Isn’t this just another way of viral advertisment ?

Too bad.

@lorembolo
There is no need to bother anyone. You can tell people you know, or you can choose to ask in this thread for someone to invite you. That’s your choice, and you’re welcome any way you choose.

I will invite lorembolo:)

thx seanser !
:wink:

Oops hehe, I sent you an invite, then I saw seansers post, sorry about that.

My buddy was gonna invite me into this but he hasn’t gotten around to it yet. So if anyone else would like to refer me I’d be happy to accept, you can see some of my sculpting work through the link in my sig.

I’d like to invite Seanser

Thanks pal:) you’re the bestest.

For the Chirstmas prize, those who have a work in progress around 50%-60% finished, will be able to change the picture to the one with the final result for the New Year’s prizes. Just write “Work in progress” in the post for Christmas.

Ok, here is a bust I made to test out the Dynamesh feature in Zbrush, sculpting from a sphere. It’s just a quick bpr render of the poly painted model and a couple of screen grabs.

I’ll try and enter a different full body finished sculpt next week.

I was thinking about entering, and then I saw that…wow

Keep in mind that no matter the quality of the talented people, there are different ways to win:

  • Christmas prize winner is raffled randomly, so everyone has the same chances.
  • Two cathegories: Standard and High Quality.
  • One of the New Year’s prize is also randomly raffled among “All” participants. Everyone with same chances.
  • The person who refers more sculptors, wins.
  • The people you invite can also make you win.

I originally was trying to get a piece done for the competition but unfortunatly time is againest me on this, and Ill have to change it to a different piece. Ill post the wip of the original piece in a different post for those interested in the forums.

Here is a Chinese Dragon that was designed/built in sculptris, If I can decimate enough of it using zbrush I might be able to finish the back end but again thats if I can get enough time during this holiday.

Sorry for the confusion.

Update: ( I’m not sure if I should should keep to the same post but Ive updated the dragon head, jsut discovered Dynamesh, Now I have all the polygons!!!)

Referrer: D_structorr
