i’m just a begginer blender user. my question is what is the setting to apply the bump map to the uv map texture.
Once you’ve UVMapped it add the same texture in Materials (F5 and F6) and in F5, MapInput tab change the mapping from ORCO to UV so it uses the same mapping.
and enter the name of the texture, UVTex by default, in the field. Map it to Nor. see http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Manual/Bump_and_Normal_Maps

You’ll need to use Ramps on the Material though. Alpha Mapped textures mask the color of the Material, Spec and Mirror. You may also be better off using Material Nodes.
