I have made a quick material (similar to a copper) the darkened areas are blemishes in the surface, I was wondering if it was possible to make these blemishes affect the reflection (an image mapped with ‘ref’ on).
If those darkened areas are an image map, the answer is yes. Just click the “nor” button on the right side of the material buttons screen and adjust the normal value below. If those are generated by a blender procedural cloud (or marble, etc.) texture, they won’t work that way. Only a few of Blender’s procedurals (stucci, for instance) can affect the surface normal and, therefore, reflection mapping.
