[BWC] The bird and prey (rethought)

This is my idea for the BWC. It is inspired by the scene of a bird of prey(mechanical bird) diving after its next meal (the Flying sub). To give you an idea of scale, I imagine the sub would be around a mile long.

well, that’s some good progress. It looks like you know where you’re going with it, too. I think the planetscape idea could be really cool. Keep it up.

What’s with all the Robo animals? I saw robo-dog, I have a Robo-Scorpian, and now a robo bird =P

hessiess, an intersting concept that can make for very dramatic visuals. Your modeling is nice and clean so far, with a very distinct visual style, so best of luck and keep up the good work.

Interesting concept. I really like the modelling so far.

How do you plan to portray the scale of the bird and sub. You say that the sub will be 1 mile long. Will there be any references to get an idea of the scale ?
The planet alone might not be enough, since you have no clue how far away it is.

Creature factory I guess. Thats what inspired the overall look of this image.

good question, It may not be visible on the drawing, but the sub will have some small windows, witch should give a sence of scale.

I finished the leading edge of the wing.

If you put a person peering out of the window on the sub, then that will give a great sense of how large the sub and bird are. Think Shadow of the Colossus, the title artwork for that has a great example of a person with an extremely large animal-giant. I would post a link but I don’t have enough posts.

yes this is a nice idea^^

Looks like a cool idea, and the bird looks grand so far

good idea, except the windows on the sub would be so small that a face would be unnoticeable. I think I need to decrease the scale of the scene abit to make this image workable. To get this finished in time im going to have to eather simplify the sub or get rid of it completly. Im not good at texturing so texturing the bird is going to take a lot of time.

anyway, Ive started working on this project again, havening a week long holiday just when i was starting to make progress through this off track.

hessiess it’s really good. That celtic symbol or hessiess symbol if I am right has just the right amount for shine to make an impact. Look forward to viewing more of your progress!~

upper part of leg finished for now.

I have rethoghorght this image, changing into a first person prospective. The main focal point is now the foot, which needs more detail. I also think the head is too big.
