Cabin Scene

Been in the woods a lot lately, and have been dreaming about building a cabin of my own. I found a bunch of cabin pictures on the internet and got some Blender inspiration. Blender Cycles 2.63. Render time ~30 minutes.

I like the concept. First of all, I would probably try building a bit more of the scene outside of the house. At first it isn’t too clear, but after looking at it a bit more, it become pretty obvious that it is an image on a plane right outside of the house. Secondly, the chair could use a little more work. I don’t know many chairs where the seat is completely flat, and it also looks like you may have a little bit of shading issues happening in the back rest. If you continue to have issues correcting that, tab into edit mode, select the back of the chair and press the button that recalculates the normals. Finally, in this scene, you may want to put glass in the window. I know there are some scenes when you don’t want to do that because it can cause some funky shadows, but with it being a central part of the image, I thing it should definitely have glass (a plane with a solidify modifier) in it. I can’t wait to see where you go with this though. Good luck!
