CAD import - unknown empty element

Hello there!

The following model was originally an IGES file, converted from Brep to mesh in Fusion 360, then imported as a FBX file into Blender.

With the import, something else was brought into the scene and I’m trying to figure out what it is. I have the arrow pointing to the dotted line object in my screenshot. My best guess is that it has something to do with pivot points and constraints. The main object is actually a leg from a Transformer model, so I’m thinking these properties were specified and carried over into Blender? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

EDIT - Looks like it is an ‘empty axis’. But I’m still not sure what to do with it. If I try deleting the left portion, the other side of the axis container suddenly scales up. So I’m not sure what’s going on. I’d like to just simply deal with the mesh. Or at least, know what this axis means.

The empty is only an object useful, where are parented all other objects in scene, useful for transformation or placing the geometry in the space all related object of assembly, The center of geometry are in the center, this for Blender isn’t good, move the center to geometry (Shift+crtl+Alt+C) but remove before the parent with empty (Alt+P).
3d objects imported have the relation of the space useful for CAD but with other applications sometime you may need to tweak inside the geometry.
