Camera view and rendering doesn't show the actual object

I’ve been following the famous donut tutorial and now at part 6 but got stuck with viewing the object/donut and also while rendering as I only see a gray screen even if I do see everything fine in my Viewport Shading.

A more descriptive video can be found here: https://youtu.be/q44Cdm5W25k

I guess it has to be something about my lightning and my unit scale - this is what’s different from the default settings but not sure what exactly.

Could anyone help?

I guess you set “Camera” to an object, select the camera an set it as camera:

Can you not just delete and add a new camera?

Frame scene where you see the Donut as you want…Select your camera…
Hit Ctrl + Alt + Numpad 0 ( zero )…tweak your camera to your liking…

Did that, nothing changes

If you watch my video you’ll see that I did just that

As simple as that, this worked

I guess we’ll never know what went wrong

Sorry …missed the screencast…
But, if this ever happens again it is due to the scale you are working in…
Not the applied scale but measurement…I could not tell from this if MM or Meters…but either way…Too Large and it will do it, too small the same…and it all has to do with the clipping distance, not only in the viewport but in the camera itself…
a lot of times just rescaling and then applying scale will stop this from happening…and of course…just deleting and adding a new camera will bring it in called to the scene…
Happy Blending…

Yes, I’m pretty sure it’s something related to measurements but not sure how exactly or how to correct it. Furthermore, I got into this related issue also: Camera is really really small and resizing it doesn't stick
