Camera View: How to view character in full solid view and not in perspective view?

Currently, I am new to using Blender. Weeks ago, I was using Maya Autodesk, but the controls and other functions were to complex to manage. I will eventually use the program in the future. But now I am using Blender.

I need help with changing my character from wire frame view to solid view. In other words, how to view the character in color.

I would appreciate your help!

change the Mode to solid view !
may be it’s the material that is in wiremesh mode check it out !

happy 2.5

Press the ‘Z’ key.

the Z key toggles between solid and wireframe mode. Alt + Z gives you textured mode, which might be what you’re looking for as well…
Also, if you hover your mouse over the 3D window and press ‘N’ you’ll toggle the properties panel; in the “Display” section of the properties panel, you can choose from different shading methods (multitexture, texture face, GLSL) and – quite useful – there is a “Textured Solid” checkbox option there as well. If you fiddle with all of these settings you’re likely to find something that does what you want it to.

Me: Thanks to everyone for their instructional advice, and yes I was in wireframe mode. All I had to do to get out of it was press alt+z to return to texture mode.
