Hi
I set the camera to 85mm which I think is a nice setting for portraits It doesn’t distort much and get close to the ortho view as well. But why is there such a difference between camera perspective and the rendered image? I thought they should be the same yet the head is much narrower in the rendered image.
With so little supplied info one can only use guesswork. What have you set the render X and Y aspect ratio
@Richard Marklew: Thanks for the reply. I am a beginner and never even noticed/thought of the aspect ratio settings. EDIT: forgot to mention that changing the aspect ratio so x and y are the same solved the problem thanks Richard
…Still why this change in aspect ratio between the different settings, as they eh skew the model so to speak. END-EDIT
Anyways I had clicked the render preset tv-pal 4:3 which aspect ratio is set to X: 12 and Y:11. Never thought these setting would make such a difference to how the exact model appears in camera perspective counter the actual rendering… like I would have to have the model re-made for each format to show correctly, which couldn’t be the case, could it? What am I missing!?
btw what else do I need to think about to get the model to be shown correctly when rendering or bringing it into a game engine like e.g Unity?
As you have noticed by now I am really clue-less about these things and really appreciate all the help I can get to be able to understand this.
The short answer is that television uses rectangular pixels, while computers use square ones. Something you need to be aware of if rendering for television.
Thanks organic
