Can anyone tell what's wrong w/ my Skinned surface?

I am following this tutorial from the Blender documentation.
The first one I did with fewer segments worked fine. But then I added more segments, maintaining their order though, and keeping the same number of vertices per segment, and this happened, is like the normals are inverted.
However, the normals were ok after I converted the object to a mesh. So maybe this is not so bad…
