So it looks for me, I won’t be upgrading to versions beyond 4.1 of Blender now, as EEVEE renders even basic cube as black and gives me Error Shadow buffer full. Even though I have changed settings. I’m running iMac 2020 Intel Core i7… with AMD Radeon Pro 5500 XT 8 GB.
I’ve read that Blender have dropped support for Intel which might be the reasons I’m having the error shadow buffer full error.
So anyways version 4.1 runs absolutely fine on my computer, but I’d love the Sculpt tools brushes that appear in Assets as an option in 4.1. Is there a way I can do this? Perhaps an Add on?
The management of Sculpt Brushes would have changed to asset management from blender 4.2.
I don’t think this will work because it’s supported on blender 4.2 and later versions.
Before blender 4.2, I would have taken the Sculpt Brush from the blender file and registered it as a user brush.
This is not accurate, it needs to be checked.
AMD Radeon Pro 5500 XT supports OpenGL 4.6.
All versions of the blender are available for this graphic card.
The black problem may be related to the graphics driver.
I don’t know much about MAC settings, but if you use two GPUs, you can set which GPUs to use in your system.
If you set the AMD Radeon Pro 5500 XT to the GPU that is used by Systen by default, I think the blender version problem will be solved.
Strangely it shows up in Blender 4.1 the graphics card, but not in version 4.4, but I haven’t updated my OS it’s on Monterey. I wonder if that might be my reason it’s not working. I have some software and addons not compatible if i I update. So I wonder if that’s my issue.
Use GPU-Z to see if the GPU’s OpenGL information comes out to 4.6.
This information does not come out normally on some of the damaged GPUs.
※ I haven’t checked if there is a GPU-Z for MAC.
And I think most of the blender and GPU problems are related to GPU drivers.
