Hi, I’m currently following a udemy tutorial and trying to level up. So I was trying to make a table with drawer (not drawable tho). I would need to add 2 faces, on the original table surface, and then extrude these 2 faces, and then connect them, to make a handle. But I don’t really know the best way to add these faces.
I thought about loop cut, but that would increase geometry on surfaces I didn’t need. So instead I inset the original surface, thus created a smaller face. Then I selected this face and scale it and duplicate it. But the edges connecting to the inset face is kinda twisted.
So what is the common workflow to add vertices/edges/faces?
Hello
I guess that each person have its own “good” way?
Me, I’m an old person, used to old fashion, low resources techniques, so, I’ll delete some faces and connect, by hand, the bottom of the handle to the drawer’s face.
You could also use the “Boolean Modifier”…I’ve heard somewhere ,that now, they work well, eh eh?
Or, just put the handle inside the front face?
Or use “Loop-Cut”, some more faces, these days, are not much important?
Find the “good way” for you!
Bye
