I use affinity designer for creating vector art and I’m familiar with pen-tools/bazier tools/curve tools etc. today I tried to make a face by using pen tools in blender I drove myself insane by how complicated it was. I can’t get the curve editor to work! It’s slow and clunky compared to affinity designer. Can I create my characters in affinity designer and import them as svg files and rig them in blender so I can animate them?
Affinity Designer has SVG export, so yeah, you sure can blender has an SVG importer, really it’s just a simple export import pipeline
Thank you for quick reply!
Doesn’t svg files mess with rigging or add any limitations in blender?
Well… you can rig an SVG file, but it may work better if you import it as SVG and then convert the curves to grease pencil objects. You can rig GP pretty easily, here’s a good series:
Thank you but I googled converting curves to grease pencil and I didn’t find anything!!!
Thank you so much!!!
