Can I import Revit models into Blender to save out as dwg/obj etc?

I work in 3ds Max and my clients sometimes send me revit files, if the file is too recent I can’t open it so was wondering if there was any way to get a revit file into Blender so I can save it out to bring into Max?

You may have look here (maybe payed):

Thanks, I had seen that but unfortunately you need a copy of Revit to make it work which i don’t have.

Otherwise, Blender only has officially hosted importers for DXF and FBX formats.

It is not destined to be a converter of formats.

3DSmax and Revit are software of same company. In theory, that is the best compatibility, you can expect.
If you are forced to ask other formats from your client ; there is probably no reason to pass through Blender.

If for any reason Revit Interoperability doesnt work in your 3DSmax installation, ask your client to deliver an fbx file exported from Revit.
If you know someone using Revit you can ask him to convert the file, maybe for a small fee.
In the worst case scenario, adhere to a Flex points plan with Autodesk wich allows to use Revit (and other apps) by the day, and make the conversion by yourself.

That´s an opportunity to migrate all your production pipeline to FOSS like Blender: use Autodesk apps ONLY when the client needs force it.

I think that may be the only way, thanks for the advice.
