Can I pay someone to walk me through a Blender action?

Howdy, I downloaded Blender because a tech at ImagineIt said that it would work for what I was trying to do, namely: Take a grayscale image done in PhotoShop CS5, make a heightmap of it in Blender and export it as a .stl file (for a prototyping printer). I would love to be able to spend the time learning how to use Blender and creating wonderful 3D artwork, however, I am involved in too many other projects at this time. So because the learning curve is high (for me) and I was totally lost looking for the menus referenced in the manual and also finding the “importing help page” not written yet, I would like to have an experienced user take me through the steps in real time (via phone). I am willing to pay a reasonable amount for the tutorial. Let me know.

I’ll do it for free. This can be done easily with a Displacement modifier

  1. Add a plane, and scale it up with S.

  1. Go into Edit Mode

  1. Subdivide it over and over again to get a high-poly mesh.

  1. Create a Texture.

  1. Give the plane a Displacement Modifier. Specify the texture to use.

You may want to fiddle with the Strength, and add some Subdivision Surface and Smooth modifiers around it too.

  1. Finally, export it.

even though I didn’t request this, I still want to say thank you!

…THANK YOU…
